TANZANIA: Arusha Hosts Fourth Annual Meeting of Network Pastoral Africa
Focusing
on the encyclical “Laudato Si’” of Pope Francis and its implications for the work
of the Pastoral Institutes in Africa, the fourth annual meeting of Network
Pastoral Africa is scheduled to take place at the Lumen Christi Institute in
Arusha, Tanzania, from 3rd to
6th February, 2017.
Among
the topics to be discussed during the Arusha meeting includes an African
Reading of Laudato Si, Ecological Challenges in Africa, Ecological
formation and spirituality, creation myths in African Traditional Religion and
Biblical explanation of creation.
The
meeting which is organized and sponsored by Missio Aachen is expected to
provide a forum for sharing by Pastoral institutes as well as forging way
forward for the vision of Network Pastoral Africa.
Among
the participants during the meeting will be Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Chimombo, AMECEA
Pastoral Coordinator and Rev. Fr. Jordan Nyenyembe from AMECEA Pastoral
Institute in Gaba and Rev. Fr. Febian Pikiti Mulenga, former coordinator of
AMECEA Pastoral department.
The
3rd annual meeting of the Network Pastoral Africa took place at the
AMECEA Pastoral Institute Gaba, in Eldoret, Kenya, while the two previous
meetings were held at Lumko, South Africa in 2013 and at the Centre for Social
Concern and the Kungoni Centre of Culture and Art in Malawi in 2014.
